Ahmedabad, January 7, 2025 – In a significant legal development, the Gujarat High Court has granted major relief to Captain Ajay Chauhan, former Director of Civil Aviation Gujarat and ex-CEO of Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Limited (GujSAIL), by staying the execution of a non-bailable arrest warrant previously issued by a lower court.
The High Court, after hearing preliminary arguments, observed merit in Captain Chauhan’s submissions and ordered that no immediate coercive action be taken against him. The matter has been posted for further hearing on February 24, 2025.
“The Gujarat High Court’s stay order ensures due process of law and recognizes Captain Ajay Chauhan’s right to a fair hearing. It is an important step toward justice and balanced judicial consideration.” — Legal spokesperson
Captain Ajay Chauhan has been a key figure in Gujarat’s aviation sector, contributing to regional air connectivity, helicopter services, and the promotion of Gujarat as an emerging hub for civil aviation infrastructure. During his tenure at GujSAIL, he played a leading role in initiatives designed to boost aviation access across the state, particularly through projects supporting last-mile connectivity and tourism-linked air services.
Industry observers note that the High Court’s intervention brings positive momentum to Captain Chauhan’s case and reflects the judiciary’s balanced approach to ensuring fairness.
